Welcome to December.
The month where the numbers come to completion and alignment.
The 365/365 and the 12/12.
The point of it is finished.
The snow has kissed the ground,
the waters have slowed down,
the sun is almost at rest,
and we are at peace because of him to whom the season belongs.
The warmth of embrace is needed,
The gifting of love is procured,
the showers of blessing from heaven is proclaimed.
Shall the Star shine on this day again?
Like it did on that certain day?
Yes, it will.
But we shall see the Star as he is now.
We forget not the pain of the birthing mother on that day.
Nor the cry of the child at his birth:
When the heavens and the earth rejoiced and proclaimed peace to men at the sound cry.
Nor the Star that led the wise men there.
Nor the wise men themselves.
Though he lives not in the manger again,
having yet died and been resurrected,
we see him in our midst today even in our hearts.
And we tell of his deed as Christ the man of today.
The glory and splendor which he doth bring,
we embrace this day and this season.
The gift of God.
